What We Believe

LifeHouse Church is a Bible-based church. That means we seek to believe and practice what is explicitly taught in the Bible. As a church, we believe the following:

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and the final authority for salvation and right Christian living (2 Pet 1.20-21; 2 Tim 3.15-17).

God

We believe in one God, eternal and almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, who is one in essence and person, and who for us became one of us while yet remaining God (Deut 6.4 Isa 43.10-11; Eph 4.4-6, Rev 1.8).

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, the image of the invisible God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and descended from David.

We believe He was both true God and true man in whom all the fullness of the Deity dwells.

We believe He suffered crucifixion under Pontius Pilate, died for our sins, went to the grave, and rose again the third day to ascend into heaven from whence He will return in glory to judge the world, raise the dead, and inaugurate an eternal kingdom.

(Matt 1.20-23; John 1.1-2, 14; John 10.30; John 12.45 John 14.8-10; Col 2.8-9; 1 Tim 3.16)

Sin and Salvation

We believe everyone has sinned and is in desperate need of salvation.

We believe in salvation through Christ alone, by grace, through faith, evidenced by resulting good works.

(Rom 3.23-25; Rom 6.23; Eph 2.8-9)

The Gospel and Conversion

We believe the Gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.

We believe we express our belief in the gospel through obedience to the gospel.

We believe we obey the gospel and apply it to our lives by repenting from sin (death to sin), being baptized in water the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins (burial), and being regenerated through the baptism of the Holy Spirit (resurrection).

We believe this threefold experience is the consistent pattern of conversion in the early church, part of the biblical New Birth experience, and essential for salvation

(1 Cor 15.1-4; 2 Thes 1.8; 1 Pet 4.17; Mark 1.15; Acts 15.7; Rom 6.3-4; Acts 2.4, 37-39; Acts 8.9-17; Acts 10.1-48; Acts 19.1-7).

Christian Living

We believe, as Christians, we are to love God and love others.

We believe we are to worship God joyfully and seek to live a life that is pleasing to him both inwardly and outwardly—in our thoughts, words, and actions.

We believe we are empowered to live a life pleasing to God through the Holy Spirit.

We believe the supernatural gifts of the Spirit are for the church today and are available to all Spirit-filled believers.

(Mark 12.28-31; 1 Cor 12.8-10; 2 Cor 7.1; Rom 8.13-14; Gal 5.19-26; Heb 12.14)

Eternity

We believe Jesus Christ will come again to carry away his church.

We believe, in the end, there will be the final resurrection and the final judgment.

We believe the righteous will inherit eternal life and the unrighteous eternal death.

(1 Thes 4.16-17; Rev 20.11-15)
